It includes many new features and enhancements to meet the needs of the most challenging simulation applications for engineers and scientists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These new features will help solve the challenges of developing, testing and evaluating autonomous and advanced driving functions through intensive use of the simulation all throughout the R&amp;D process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main topics of this new version are improvements of our new terrain, improvements on visual rendering powered by Unreal Engine, support of Vector SIL Kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As always,&nbsp;<strong>SCANeR 2023.3<\/strong>&nbsp;is compatible with the highest performance hardware and software solutions available on the simulation market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>HIGHLIGHTS<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Among many improvements, evolutions and new features, you will find below a selection of features of utmost interest for your use cases such as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.avsimulation.preprod-machine.net\/pack-ad-adas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>ADAS<\/strong><\/a>,&nbsp;<strong>Autonomous driving<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.avsimulation.preprod-machine.net\/pack-massive-simulation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Massive simulation<\/a>,<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.avsimulation.preprod-machine.net\/pack-headlights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Headlights<\/a>,<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>VR &amp; For users who are sure they don\u2019t want (or can\u2019t) use UXD rendering.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Compute<\/strong>: for those who want to use SCANeR for cloud computing purpose. Doesn\u2019t install unused files in this use case, such as documentation, sample or API files.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Compute without UXD<\/strong>: same as the previous one, but also doesn\u2019t install the file related to UXD rendering utilization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Custom<\/strong>: to select manually which set of files will be installed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.avsimulation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/scaner-studio-setup.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-40312\" title=\"SCANeR Studio setup\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A script is also available for Linux to deploy SCANeR in&nbsp;<strong>Full<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>Compute<\/strong>&nbsp;preset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TERRAIN Mode<a><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New features<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ergonomics<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We added some functions to help users to create and modify roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Users can now modify&nbsp;<strong>border offset<\/strong>&nbsp;along the road without creating a new portion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.avsimulation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/scaner-terrain-mode.gif\" alt=\"SCANeR road style editor\" class=\"wp-image-40222\" title=\"SCANeR terrain mode\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>They can modify points or tangents along the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This function is also available for&nbsp;<strong>OpenDrive<\/strong>&nbsp;Import to generate less portion changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.avsimulation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/opendrive-import-terrain-mode-1.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-40314\" title=\"Opendrive-import-terrain-mode\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.avsimulation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/20232.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.avsimulation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/20233.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We have added another tool to automatically create or delete lanes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.avsimulation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/terrain-mode-3.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-40232\" title=\"terrain-mode-3\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For lane creation, depending on the driveway and the lane selected, different propositions are available. The new lane will use the same road style as the selected lane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.avsimulation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/terrain-mode-gif1.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-40234\" title=\"terrain mode gif1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Lane suppression:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.avsimulation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/terrain-mode-gif2.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-40236\" title=\"terrain mode gif2\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a>UXD engine (powered by Unreal)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:&nbsp;<\/strong>UXD Engine is not yet capable of addressing all SCANeR use cases. For this reason, the original VISUAL module, based on Open Scene Graph, is still available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Improvement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rendering quality improvements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We improved shadows rendering to ensure a smooth transition between the different shadow levels. When this option is activated, the platform stays in Neutral position between two scenarios, instead of going back to settled.
